Metro NYE Celebratory Gunfire Kills Bathtub

Again we debate the aftermath of New Year's celebration . . . Police downplay local shooting but our readers note a great deal of celebratory gunfire despite the best efforts & warnings of police.

Here's one story that stands out . . .

She heard the sound of fireworks at midnight as 2024 became 2025. About a half hour later, she was standing at her bathroom sink when she heard a crashing sound she first thought was breaking glass . . . “It took me a long time to figure out oh a bullet came through here when I looked up and saw that hole in the ceiling,” the woman, who asked not to be identified, said.

The bullet came through the ceiling in the one-story home and landed in the tub of her shower. Holding it, she describes it as heavy caliber.
