Just a quick update on the continued building boom near 39th Street that has pretty much served to ruin residential life for neighbors.
Quizzically, there hasn't been much economic benefit for all of this building . . . Example: They can't even keep a Panera across the street open and EVERYBODY loves those soup bread bowls.
In the meantime . . . We've liberated this tidbit quote from behind a paywall . . . Check-it:
KU Med intends to raze Olathe Pavilion, a 53,971-square-foot building on the school’s campus at 2060 W. 39th Ave., using more than $2 million in requested state demolition funds.
The project, previously outlined in KU Med’s 2024-2050 Campus Master Plan, would tear down the university-owned building and an entrance used by employees affiliated with KU Med and the University of Kansas Health System. In their place, the school would build another exterior entry estimated to cost $6.9 million.
