Kansas Guv Kelly Proposes 'Universal Pay' Hike For State Workers

An interesting move for the Kansas moderate . . . 

Her power move tests "populist" inclinations of her Kansas GOP colleagues. 

The caveat . . . Even if they're low on the food chain, guv workers don't get a lot of love from the right-wing.

Still, here's the pitch . .  .

"A presentation from the Kansas Division of Budget said the raise "closely aligns" with its target to adjust salaries with inflation, brings employees more in line with the private sector and will cost about $90 million from all state funds, including about $37 million from the State General Fund.

"Previously, Republicans have favored pay raises based on how salaries compare to market rates, rather than the universal pay bump Kelly proposed."
