KANSAS CITY SUFFERS BLOODY START TO NEW YEAR 2025!!!
A quick roundup is in order . . .
A male victim was killed by gunfire early New Year's Day.
Gunfire claimed the lives of two men near an embattled pizza shop on Blue Ridge
And now this latest spate of violence brings the 2025 homicide count to at least 6 or 7 depending on the results of police investigation . . . Here is the first report . . .
Homicide 1000 blk of NW 91st Ter
Just before 9:45 PM, officers responded to the 1000 block of NW 91st Terrace on a reported check the welfare call for service.
When officers arrived they began checking the exterior of the residence. They smelled smoke and could see smoke inside the home. Officers made entry into the home but had to quickly back out due to a fire inside. The Kansas City, MO Fire Department simultaneously responded and were able to extinguish the fire.
Upon reentering the home a juvenile female was located with an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel declared her deceased at the scene. A juvenile male was located also suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later. An adult male was located in the residence also suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the scene.
This is being investigated as a homicide and detectives are not looking for any suspects. Investigators and crime scene personnel are working to determine what led up to the incident. They are processing the scene for physical evidence and canvassing the area for any potential witnesses.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.
We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
