Kansas City Pupper Caged Amid Blizzard

Again . . . Another nice local story for balance and deets from a brave rescue that still doesn't/shouldn't change how locals feel about this embattled local agency that can't handle the not so nice work or local animal control . . . Still . . . In fairness . . . Check a recent victory for the org . . .

“She’s doing great,” said Angelina Bryant, Animal Services Field Supervisor with KC Pet Project. “Didn’t have any injuries, frostbite. She’s been hanging out in my office all day, super friendly. Taking naps, living her best life and she won’t have to deal with that again.”

Bryant answered the urgent call around 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning; an elderly man living around the 2000 block of Jackson Avenue said he was woken up by a dog barking. He looked out his window and saw the dog in the crate in distress. The man couldn’t make it down his driveway to get the dog himself, so Bryant jumped into action.

“Got to our shelter in the blizzard and the gates were frozen shut,” said Bryant. “I couldn’t get to our animal control trucks, so I took my personal vehicle.”
