Kansas City Police Confirm Two Youngsters Killed By Their Father

Local media coverage has focused on the tragic loss and community to reaction to youngsters who were victims of homicide over the holidays.

"Two children found dead of gunshot wounds inside a burning home in Kansas City’s Northland last week were students in the Platte County School District, the district confirmed. In a message sent to families and staff Sunday, officials said the district was mourning the deaths of Jeffrey Hatcher, 8, a second grade student at Pathfinder Elementary School and Charlotte Hatcher, 6, a kindergartner."

Now, with a trigger warning for sensitive readers,  here is the latest update from Kansas City Police:

"This case is now being investigated as a Murder – Suicide

"The two children are the victims of the homicide and the adult male, their father, is the victim of the suicide and the suspect of the murders."

The decedents have been identified.
