Every journalist over 40 was inspired to write something as vivid and meaningful as this 1989 article from the New Yorker:

Hollywood writers mistakenly claim they "discovered" the guy and turned him into "The Soup Nazi" but they were actually just following up on something they read in a magazine. 

Now, the world of social media has mostly turned anybody with a phone into their own celebrity so a great deal of urban mystery has vanished. 

Meanwhile . . .

This note strikes a memory chord and we wanted to share local hipsters offering a timely tribute to soup:

"It has to evoke a feeling of “healing,” which is completely made up and subjective. The soup has to be comforting, striking the balance of rich and bold without solely relying on salt."
