Kansas City Double Homicide After Gunfire Erupts On Blue Ridge

Remember that earlier this week Kansas City elected officials were touting "progress" against the homicide count in 2024.

Right now . . . This is at least the #3 killing so far in 2024 . . .Which means we've had more homicides than days so far . . . Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 8700 blk of Blue Ridge

This evening just after 7:30 PM, patrol officers were dispatched to the 8700 block of Blue Ridge on a reported shooting.  Call notes indicated two individuals were possibly shot in a parking lot.

Upon arrival the officers located two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced both victims deceased.

This is being investigated as a homicide. Preliminary investigation revealed there was an interaction in the parking lot that led to the victims being shot. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and any possible surveillance footage. Crime scene investigators are processing the scene for all available physical evidence.
