Seems like the best place to start this week is with a question:
WHAT SHOULD KANSAS CITY EXPECT FROM PREZ TRUMP PART DEUX?!?!
TKC doesn't want to get in the way of any responses either positive or negative but, thankfully, I'm old enough to have learned this: Nothing ever lives up to expectations. The coffee never tastes as good as it smells and everything from marriage to sex to careers to new cars and just about every adventure under the Sun is sold on SIZZLE and not substance.
LIFE IS NOTHING MORE OR LESS THAN A WONDERFUL DISAPPOINTMENT.
Thankfully, fate almost always seems to find a way to protect us from what we want.
Nevertheless . . . Our expectations are low enough to be easily pleased which is why we have maintained our cheeky sense of humor and lots of giggles whilst so many other old-school locals are still frustrated whilst trying to change the world via angry social media comments.
And who knows, maybe beating up Mexicans is more fun than it seems. We've only seen it from the losing side.
But I digress . . .
Trusted readers get first dibs and then we'll post the rest of the comments and get started on Monday in just a bit . . . But first let's set the stage for today's inauguration with an apt quote:
Trump is expected to act swiftly after the ceremony, with executive orders already prepared for his signature to jumpstart deportations, increase fossil fuel development and reduce civil service protections for government workers, promising that his term will bring about “a brand new day of American strength and prosperity, dignity and pride.”

Upon second reading this post comes off a bit too melancholy and doesn't capture the excitement in the air, on the street and powering your dad's CPAP machine . . . And so, we'll share one of our favorite songs about the future if only because it reminds of simpler times watching my mom push the car in a gas rationing line . . . Moreover, when we think fondly of white people and their ambitions . . . We think of the iconic "We've Only Just Begun" by The Carpenters.
