Today . . .
MORE THAN THREE DOZEN EMPTY STOREFRONTS PLAGUE THE PLAZA DESPITE KANSAS CITY PROMISES OF IMPROVEMENT!!!
Sure, there are some promises that new ownership will turn things around and even signs that security and maintenance have been boosted.
But we also shouldn't forget that demolition of historic tennis courts and an array of low-income housing is ALSO part of City Hall "planning" for the Plaza.
And so . . .
Thanks to AWESOME TKC READERS we pulled this important quote from the mostly useless muck of social media and wanted to highlight the research of a skilled and thoughtful journalist . . . Check-it:
"I reached out to corporate officials for the two chains last week but they couldn’t be reached for comment. Plaza officials also couldn’t be reached for comment. According to my records, the Plaza now has 40 empty spaces."
