Kansas City Climate Activists Detained Amid Jackson County Protest

A bit more precisely regarding this "Zero Fare" ruckus . . .

TKC TOLD YOU SO: LOCAL ACTIVISTS DEMANDING BUS FREE BUS MONEY CONFRONT COLD SHOULDER FROM COURTHOUSE OFFICIALS!!!

Here's one of the problems . . .

It's actually KCMO that plays the biggest role in determining the ATA budget. And NOT the county. We've talked to insiders about this issue and most of them believe the protesters are off-base and uninformed.

And, a TKC commenter asks . . .

Why aren't these protesters mentioning a word about the somewhat controversial leadership of the KCATA?!?

One more . . . Maybe the most important thing to watch . . .

Will the new Jackson County Prosecutor level charges against these protesters??? Previously Mean Jean would let the walk without even as much as a slap on the wrist?!?

Sadly . . .

Slogans shouted and demands mostly ignored don't help voters understand transit issues.

Our biggest beef on this blog . . .

Neither protesters nor politicos want to talk about the transit authority being used as a piggy bank for developers with political connections.

And so the bad theater persists . . .

"Monday marked the third protest in just one week from Kansas City-area climate activists, who demand that Jackson County step up to fund the KCATA. One protester was detained and more than 50 activists were removed from the legislature's chambers."
