Actually, this one is just more hype for the desperate local merchants who need to believe it.
In fact . . .
It's becoming more obvious that there's not going to be much economic benefit for soccer games and, accordingly, there's even less local excitement.
In fairness, we share this press release that speaks to the contrary . . . Check-it:
"KC2026 issued a memo Tuesday asking for residents in the Kansas City region to share details for any public events they are planning or considering during the World Cup, which will bring several matches to Kansas City two summers from now."
