Kansas City Activists Demand Free Bus Rides On April Ballot

Allow us a bit of context . . .

Recent transit outcry amid the impending death of "Zero Fare" is why we are often skeptical of activists. Why? Because the KCATA serves as a piggy bank for a great deal of questionable local development yet there's not a peep about so much sketchy investment of public funds into private biz deals. Only problematic free bus fare inspires outrage and the threat of future protest.

And . . . Of course . . . This advocacy leaves out that union leaders and bus drivers have been ON RECORD against free bus riders for reasons including safety and THE STENCH

Nevertheless . . .

As always and to be fair . . . We share the perspective and demands of local progressives asking for infinite cash . . . Check-it:

"There are only 11 days left for Jackson County to put bus funding on the April ballot that, if passed, would provide funding for buses across the county that have either been cut (Independence, Grandview, Blue Springs, Raytown) or are at risk of being cut soon (KCMO) . . .

"We are demanding Jackson County step up and take action before it’s too late and let the people show how important buses are to our communities."
