Kansas City 2025 Homicide #9: Northland Double Shooting Leaves Man Dead

This tragic fact of life shouldn't be downplayed . . .

IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS KANSAS CITY HAS RECORDED THREE MORE HOMICIDES!!!

Again . . .

This comes after local talk of homicide count progress AND following the new Governor's pledge to reduce crime in Missouri.

Accordingly . . . Here's the first report . . .

Homicide 3900 block of N Lister

This evening around 4:30PM officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of N Lister Ave. on a reported disturbance. While officers were enroute to the location the call was updated to a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male victim lying outside of a nearby residence suffering from apparent gunshot trauma. That victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. Officers located another adult male victim inside of the home suffering from gunshot trauma who was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.

Preliminary investigation indicates the shooting may have started over an argument. We are working to determine the relationship between both shooting victims and identify a person of interest.

Homicide detectives and crime scene personnel have responded to begin collecting evidence and gathering witness statements.

This incident is being investigated as a homicide and is ongoing at this time.
