For locals . . .
THE UPTICK IN JANUARY HOMICIDE SHOULD CONCERN KANSAS CITY RESIDENTS!!!
Why!?!
Two reasons . . .
More killings at the outset of the year basically contradicts recent consideration of "progress" against the historically high KCMO homicide count.
And . . .
Most of the progress against local homicides numbers is achieved in cold weather months. Even in the best of years Spring/Summer/Fall and the holidays evoke more stress and local deadly gunfire.
Statistically speaking . . . Deadly violence in Kansas City only gets worse as the year moves forward.
Accordingly . . .
Here's the note from today's second deadly homicide scene . . .
"The shooting happened in the 6300 block of Manchester Avenue at the Park Highlands Apartments.
"At about 2:30 p.m., officers responded to the scene on reports of a shooting. On arrival, police were told someone had been shot inside an apartment unit. Officers entered the unit and located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He died at the scene. "
