Johnson County Commish Kelly Touts Property Tax Break For Disabled Veterans

The Johnson County Board of Commissioners announced Thursday the expansion of the Johnson County Senior and Disabled Veteran Property Tax Relief program, which is in its second year. The Board of County Commissioners removed a previous $200 limit on relief payments for qualifying residents, allowing recipients to receive up to the entire amount of the Johnson County portion of their property tax bills.

“This property tax relief program reflects our commitment to provide support to the seniors and disabled veterans in our community who need it most,” said Mike Kelly, chairman of the Johnson County Board of County Commissioners. “By removing the $200 cap on payments, we hope that even more of our residents will take advantage of this opportunity.”
