How Should Kansas City Grade Blizzard 2025 Snow Removal?!?

We'll go first . . .

Today, like some kind of chubby, Latino prairie dog . . . We poked our head outside of the basement for the first time since Friday afternoon and ventured outdoors . . . Happily, we noticed that our mom is apparently still in good shape and she managed to perform a great deal of sidewalk shoveling by her lonesome . . . She did miss a couple of spots. However, we'll give her the benefit of the doubt given that she's approaching her mid-70s . . . I think . . . It has been a few years since we threw a birthday present her way. She could be 80-something . . . It's hard to tell from the trays of food sometimes placed at the top of the basement stairs.

But I digress . . .

Here's the important part . . .

On Kansas City's Westside and throughout Downtown . . . Streets were EXCELLENT. Side streets start to get a little sketchy near Midtown but still much better than most years.

East Midtown & main streets were also in EXCELLENT condition given the circumstances.

All things considered . . .

For competent snow removal and icy road prep, Mayor Q's team earns our highest grade ever bestowed upon any elected official: B+

We know that's a controversial opinion and we're prepared to take heat from commenters.

Accordingly . . . We're obliged to open up the conversation.

One more time . . .

HOW SHOULD TKC READERS GRADE MAYOR Q'S MANAGEMENT OF BLIZZARD 2025?!?

Here's a quote and one more report for context . .  .

Working nonstop throughout the night, snow crews spent all of Sunday night into Monday morning tackling as many of Kansas City’s 6,400 miles of roadways as possible.

Once daylight hit, they switched shifts and kept moving.

“We’re proud so far of our thousands of workers making sure we can get back to normal here,” Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said . . . He (also) said that even though the snow is done, their work isn’t.

“Our biggest concern right now, due to the cold temperatures, is the fact that refreezing is an opportunity. So we’re laying down salt later on today in our operation and moving on from snow removal to try and prevent that refreezing,” explained Lucas.
