Here's How Johnson County FINALLY Stepped Up To Help Homeless

Backstory . . .

For GENERATIONS the Golden Ghetto has been notorious for neglecting their responsibility for confronting the worsening U.S. homeless crisis. Before the recent advent of ubiquitous camera surveillance technology, JoCo law enforcement was notorious for directing and transporting homeless people back into KC proper and the urban core. 

Now, thankfully, that story is changing. 

Here's a new narrative that seems to be taking hold . . .

"As sleet and snow began falling, volunteers at Project 1020, Johnson County’s only emergency cold-weather shelter, made sure unhoused residents weren’t caught in the life-threatening cold. Unlike other county organizations, the shelter operated around the clock for several days straight."
