Former Kansas City Star Scribe Mourns Lost Downtown Renaissance

For those who don't know . . .

City Scene started as a project funded by developers and it continues to be propped up by the local news cartel . . . Meanwhile . . . Just for #TBT we thought this trip down memory lane was worth considering as the local elite mourn the passing of a former soldier of former Mayor Kay Barnes and even former newspaper scribes are forced to admit the dead-tree media doesn't really matter any longer . . . Check-it:

"The Star is a shell of what it was because of the decline of the entire newspaper industry. Where there was more than 300 reporters and editors covering the news at the time of the Mending series, there's now 50-60 hardworking people left and The Star's civic leadership in the community has declined substantially as a result."
