Fact Check: Kansas City Airport Design FAILS

TKC READERS OFFER EVIDENCE THAT KANSAS CITY'S NEW AIRPORT IS POORLY DESIGNED AT EVERY LEVEL!!!

C'mon man . . . That this point the food court isn't even that much to brag about . . . And after watching the clip, it's really hard to defend many of the "choices" made at MCI.

Accordingly . . .

Here's the word . . .

The architect makes some very simple cases for what makes an airport great...and MCI has failed in most of the aspects.  It's quite incredible that there is a forward thinking to airport design and almost all of it was not incorporated at MCI.  From the ticket counters to the sight lines to baggage/welcoming experience, MCI failed at all of it.  It makes you wonder who picked the architects and what qualifications they had to make the selection (are these the same folks who are planning and executing the stupid very poorly thought out road diets?).  You have commented many times on the parking lot pedestrian failures but that is just the very beginning - but this expert makes anyone who has taken a flight at MCI realize the problems are widespread and MCI is not the airport of the future."
