Cultural Context & Trends Considered After Independence Youngster Girl Suffers Gunfire

This story is actually all too common but we're highlighting it because of an unfortunate trend . . .

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE STILL IMPACTS FAR TOO MANY LOCAL YOUNG WOMEN IN THE METRO!!!

Sadly . . . And mostly along class-lines . . .

We contend that it seems like hard fought lessons from previous generations of women are being forgotten in this social media era.

Forgive the colloquial example but . . .

Most American GenX women won't put up with any dude putting hands on them. That is a VERY GOOD thing. Like it or not, most women over 40 understanding that domestic violence is unacceptable might come from a stronger 80s & 90s era media focus on cultural awareness of human history wherein women have been subject to constant abuse and still live under the threat of violence in most places outside of the Western World.

However . . .

We can't help but notice that Gen Z & Gen Alpha women aren't as adamant about a refusal to tolerate violence AND amongst "people of color" the tacit acceptance of violence from a domestic partner is often MISTAKENLY regarded as an expression of cultural norms outside of the mainstream . . . THIS IS DUMB but even a walk through the nearest shopping mall might confirm our assertion . . . Statistically higher instances of domestic abuse amongst many immigrants and in Black communities also speak to this observation.

And so . . .

All of this brings us back to local considerations . . .

Every year we notice the number of women killed by way of domestic violence remains constant and tends to increase during the colder months . . .

This latest report might remind us that the impact of cultural trends can hit home for many women in and around our community.

Check-it . .  .

"The officers found a person described as a female under the age of 18 suffering from gunshot wounds. She was taken to an area hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. An adult man was taken into custody at the scene as a suspect. "
