Congressman Cleaver Supports Stock Trading Ban For Politicos

Sadly . . .

Congressman Cleaver was once ranked as one of the "poorest" members of the U.S. House

And so . . .

He might not have a lot to lose when it comes to limiting stock trades.

Accordingly . . . And given that most voters regard Congress as cozy club of multimillionaires hoarding power . . . Here's part of the effort to overturn that perception . . .  Check-it:

Cleaver, a Missouri Democrat, co-introduced the act alongside 43 other lawmakers. It’s called the “Transparent Representation Upholding Service and Trust” (TRUST) Act and would “effectively ban Members of Congress, their spouses, and dependent children from trading individual stocks,” a press release stated.

“At a time when the American people’s faith in our democratic institutions is at an all-time low, lawmakers must take steps to demonstrate they are committed to serving the public, not their personal stock portfolios,” said Cleaver in part.

Missouri lawmaker voices support for ban of stock trading among Congress members

"It is common sense to ban lawmakers from investing in stocks," Representative Cleaver said in part.
