We're not certain how much attention we should give to Clay going forward . . .
We like Clay . . . But there are serious candidates this time around and despite his clever press releases, he'll have a hard time keeping up with real campaigns and candidates with more established funding and political experience.
Still . . .
Because it's the new year and we're trying to be nicer . . . We'll share his the latest tonight . . .
Clay Chastain Press Release:
Engineer Chastain presents New Years Resolution to City: Stop the waste & drain our mini-swamp... the (taxpayer-funded) ATA Bureaucracy (& its $108 million per year failed bus system). Replace it with a cost-effective (privatized), City-improving Alternative Transportation System designed by Chastain: (1) Airport Monorail to Northland to Union Station. (2) IRIS Rideshare vehicles & electric mini-shuttle buses (3) Additional Streetcar line from Union Station to 'Landing' to KC Zoo along Linwood, Troost & 63rd. (4) Greenways for walkable City. (5) Union Station Hub to facilitate connections between City rail systems, metro (express) buses & Amtrak.
* KC benefits from the above while being unyoked to an annual $108 M tax bill for failure...fare-free, empty, lumbering, stigmatized behemoths that tear up City streets, almost no one use & stimulate no economic growth.
* KC benefits from Citizens no longer losing time & money making millions of polluting-trips to our (distant) car & pkg-oriented New Airport.
* Eastside Citizens benefit from an economy-stimulating rail system to revive Troost & that connects to Downtown & KCI job centers.
2025 is KC's New Year to Ring in monumental change to provide what we lack...attractive transportation options, lively, walkable & uncongested streets, a growing economy, inner City revival & Community excitement (See pictures).
Like America hired Trump, this is KC's chance to hire me & let me do what I have always alleged I could do...improve Kansas City.
Happy New Year KC
KC Populist, Clay Chastain
