Cameron Lamb Fam Denounces DeValkenaere Pardon At Kansas City MLK Event

Calls for unity, faith through works and uplifting the community by way of education and determination are a big part of every MLK Day event . . . But last night outrage over a controversial political decision claimed center stage.  

Agree or disagree . . . The rebuke of a recent decision sparked as much or more support as initial endorsements of the clemency for the former KCPD detective . . . Here's the crux of the comment:

"Both Parson and Mike Kehoe have demonstrated a blatant disregard for a judicial system by commuting the sentence for Eric DeValkenaere, who was found guilty by a judge," Laurie Bey, Cameron Lamb's mother, said.

DeValkenaere was serving a six-year prison sentence in the deadly shooting of Lamb when Parson commuted the former detective's sentence.

"See the whole case," said Aquil Bey, Lamb's stepfather. "See how crooked and run down this place is."
