Travel Scandal Starts Kansas City Mayor Q Downward Spiral?!?

At the outset of the MAGA era we're witnessing Mayor Q making the painful transition to an unpopular public figure. 

This week's "travel scandal" for Mayor Q might just be the beginning of some painful months & years ahead for a politico who was once the darling of the local progressive clique. 

Of course, our conservative friends might argue that he ALWAYS been unpopular but, subsequently, can't explain why nobody ran against Mayor Q and he crushed his out-of-town fringe opponent Clay Chastain by more than 60 points. But all that is the past, let's talk about the future . . .

Let's be honest . . .

The report was a bit of a nothing-burger and a financial detail that most grown-ups rightfully dismiss. It was akin to an employee failing to fill out a TPS report or some such. 

However . . . 

Insiders already know that Mayor Q has more than a few "open secrets" that won't help his political future should the MSM start to poke around.

Seriously . . . Campaign finance accounting is a bad joke amongst politicos and we notice that Mayor Q wasn't even compelled to answer the "controversy" via social media.

Nevertheless . . .

In fairness to our more professional colleagues . . . This digging means that they're ACTUALLY LOOKING AT MAYOR Q and it seems he's no longer off limits for progressive newsies . . . That's a good thing and the slow fade from likeability happens to every KCMO Mayor. 

Former Mayor Sly ruined his image in a lot of different ways but mostly when he rammed through a convention hotel that nobody wanted or needed to start his second term . . . Karma: It opened during COVID and still hasn't lived up to expectations. 

Former Mayor Funky disappointed immediately with his wife guiding most of his decisions and, hilariously, prancing around the Mayor's office in bare feet.

Former Mayor Kay killed her legacy with the P&L District that still costs this town about 15 MILLION bucks a year . . .

And, let's go back further and remember that even Congressman Cleaver ended his KCMO mayoral tenure on a sour note for progressives when he yelled at LGBT protesters who took over a city hall meeting with an 'ACT UP' demonstration.
