Melesa Johnson won the election for Jackson County Prosecutor in November.

She has worked as the public safety director for the city of Kansas City for the last three years but got her start at the Jackson County Prosecutor’s office in 2014.

In the last few weeks, she has worked closely with the current Jackson County Prosecutor, Jean Peters Baker, preparing for her new role.
