"The first hands-free violation will cost a driver $150. From there, the dollar amount goes up. The fee for a second citation is up to $250 and a third ticket within two years will cost you $500.
"Modot says more than 100 deaths in 2023 were caused by distracted driving and more than half of those deaths were to someone other than the distracted driver."
