The current Platte County debate over an impending tax hinges on ballot language but, our readers deserve to know the real deal . . . 

Insiders tell us that local non-profit progressives are "drooling over the new $6M/year they think they'll get" but voters who read the text of the vote might fight that the decision rests with the legislative body and is optional . . . Not mandatory.

"In November, voters approved the creation of a Children’s Services Fund, a quarter-cent sales tax aimed at supporting youth mental health services in the county.

"Commissioners argue that they have the power to decide whether the tax should take effect. A vote on this is scheduled for Monday morning, at the Platte County Courthouse."
