A controversial location now has an appointment with the wrecking ball after a weekend blaze and years of controversy amongst neighbors . . . Here's the word . . .
"Fire heavily damaged the building known as the Splash of Life building at Troost Avenue and East 44th Street Friday morning. A section of the building collapsed as firefighters worked to prevent the fire from spreading.
"A city spokesperson said crews inspected the damaged building and determined it is too dangerous to leave standing. City inspectors are now working on an emergency plan to demolish the pink building."

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway, but the fire department said it will be difficult to determine because of the extent of the damage.
