Forgive us for thinking about an upside that neither Conservatives nor Progressives have yet to imagine. 

So many of our MAGA friends seem to gleefully await deportations, trans persecution, government layoffs and all manner of human misery whilst progressives imagine the U.S. plunging into the dark ages until the campaigning for midterms starts in about a year.

Meanwhile back in reality . . . 

MAGA MOVING AGAINST TELEWORK MIGHT GIVE DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY A MUCH NEEDED ECONOMIC BOOST!!!

Like it or not . . . 

Downtown remains a ghost down and despite the fake stats . . . Look around at empty parking lots, restaurants and the streetcar during the work day and realize that the COVID recovery hasn't really taken hold inside the loop.

However even amid protest from so many union leaders . . .

It seems that MAGA is serious about ending telework for federal employees and that's A LOT of people who will be returning to downtown KC in the very near future . . . Check-it . . . 

“When Donald Trump is inaugurated on Jan. 20 and that new golden age of America begins, he’s going to tell the federal workers of this country who your viewers pay for to get back into the office and do their jobs or find another line of work,” Miller told Fox News’s Jesse Watters during an interview.

"The federal government is the largest employer in Kansas City. In the wider metropolitan area, the federal government, either directly or through contracts, employs 41,500 people. The combined annual payroll of these jobs is more than $3 billion."

Accordingly . . .

Whilst culture war distracts locals from the big picture . . . There's a very real DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY ECONOMIC UPSIDE that could soon take hold whilst everyone else is busy fighting about politics.
