KCMO Fears MAGA Deploying National Guard For Mass Deportations

In the very near future, the great American MAGA mass deportation debate will capture Kansas City betwixt two opposing and angry sides.

To start . . .

Immigration isn't really TKC's bag given that we're thankfully far removed from the issue even if a basic sense of fairness sometimes gets us thinking about the calling La Migra on a couple of Irish hooligans we know who don't have their papers in order . . . But we're trying to be better that . . .

Moreover . . .

Forgive us for being such a stereotypical smart-a$$ Chicano Westsider but we've heard about this same kind of hysteria from the not-so-long-ago days of Operation Wetback and in the end that massive undertaking from the guy who led the D-Day invasion only held up smallish Mexican ladies for a few years. In fairness, there's not much that can stop smallish Mexican ladies when they set their mind to something.

But don't let us ruin the fun of upcoming MAGA beatings . . . There really is good reason to get excited.

Example . . .

KANSAS GUV KELLY OBJECTS TO DEPLOYING THE NATIONAL GUARD FOR MASS DEPORTATIONS WHILST MISSOURI IS READY DEPUTIZE TKC COMMENTERS TO CLAIM CASH BOUNTY FOR CATCHING ILLEGALS IN THE NEAR FUTURE!!!

A slightly more serious question . . .

If it happens, we honestly wonder how Kansas City will react to soldiers on local streets snatching up illegal aliens. PUNCHLINE: Nobody cared when Prez Obama was literally deporting everybody and their grandma and sent WAY MORE PEOPLE BACK ACROSS THE BORDER than MAGA 1.0.

Right now . . . What we know for certain is that rumors, fear and MOSTLY POLITICAL RHETORIC dominate the discussion of mass deportations in Kansas City with the very real prospect of a military component putting just a bit more fear into local political denizens who want to flex for social media but probably don't want any REAL trouble with authorities.

Hint . . .

In Missouri there's way more excitement about LGBT advocacy given that local Dems aren't (always) completely dense and have habitually downplayed this issue given how much Missouri supports deportation & MAGA.

In the meantime . . .

We share the slightest bit of Kansas push back and more info about the sitch . . .

"Some Democratic governors dealing with Republican-led legislatures are pushing back against the potential for sweeping deportation plans. Democratic Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly said she supports deporting people who commit crimes while living in the U.S. illegally, but she won’t send out the National Guard to help enforce federal immigration laws."

More deets from another source . . .

"Advocates are aware Trump could go further and enact his plans to use the national guard or military to enforce mass deportation efforts in cities. In these scenarios, long-term residents who have been in the US for decades and have longstanding community relationships, could be at risk. "
