A notice provided by KC Water shows some customers have reported an unusual odor recently.
There is a simple explanation behind the change, according to the water department.
"This temporary change is caused by natural seasonal and temperature shifts in the Missouri River, our primary water source. While the odor may be noticeable, it is purely aesthetic and does not affect the safety or quality of your drinking water," the information from the city said.
