Kansas City Progressives Undermine Justice For Shaun Brady

A low-key local activist & progressive talking point deserves to be addressed as we conclude another exceptionally violent year in Kansas City history.

The situation . . .

A slew of local activists MISTAKENLY argue that a teen was unjustly persecuted because he evaded charges as an accomplice in the tragic shooting death of beloved local Irish chef Shaun Brady.

 In fact . . .

Insiders understand that a slew of behind the scenes "advocacy" and politicking was at play in this case and that MIGHT have had some influence on the decision to drop the charges.

Right now speculation remains rampant and we don't want to deny the presumption of innocence HOWEVER it's also fair to be skeptical about allegations that the youngster was somehow "disenfranchised" because of his role as a suspect in one of the most gruesome murders of the year.

More importantly . . .

OUTCRY AGAINST INCARCERATION OF A SUSPECT IN SHAUN BRADY'S MURDER REVEALS KANSAS CITY ISN'T SERIOUS ABOUT CONFRONTING WORSENING YOUTH CRIME!!!

The youngster was neither exonerated nor proven innocent . . . A youth justice official simply declined to press charges. The feigned outrage in the aftermath of that decision shows all of Kansas City that progressive political advocacy still undermines desperately needed enforcement and prosecution of suspects under 18-years-old.

Nevertheless, because we're confident in our opinion . . . We'll share a perspective of a local scribe who we respect and his worthwhile column that garnered an interview with the former youngster suspect:

Although the teen was charged with second-degree murder, attempted theft of a motor vehicle and armed criminal action in connection with the fatal shooting of restaurateur Shaun Brady, the Jackson County Juvenile Court recently dismissed all charges without public notice, according to Matthew Merryman, the teen’s attorney . . .

A young man hung out to dry and being charged with a crime his mother and attorney claims he did not commit. “[He] almost got railroaded by the system but by the grace of God … he is now free, although he and his family have been left to sort through their own tragedy brought on by these accusations,” Merryman said.
