The City of Parkville’s request to annex 80 acres of Park University land was pulled after Kansas City’s Planning Commission hearing Dec. 18.

“In conjunction with our partners with the City of Parkville and the Parkville Area Chamber and Economic Development Council, we have postponed the annexation request to allow further discussion with all constituents. It is our hope to move forward with this request at a future date.” said Park University.

At the heart of Kansas City’s recommendation to deny annexation is the mining of limestone caves underneath the property which Parkville claims were already mined in 2020.
