Kansas City Firefighters Rescue Residents & Pets Amid Apartment Inferno

The season of home fires is now upon us as so many locals attempt to keep warm in various risky ways.

Here's a glimpse at today's hard time and VERY BRAVE RESCUE . . . Check-it: 

"Crews found smoke and fire coming from a three-story apartment on the city's eastside near Lee's Summit Rd. Several people and pets were trapped inside.

"Because of the cold, firefighters called ambulances to serve as warming stations for residents. They got the fire under control around 8:25 a.m. No one was hurt. The Red Cross is helping 16 adults and 7 children."

Nearly two dozen people were displaced after a fire Sunday morning in Kansas City, Missouri. Fire crews responded just before 8 a.m. to an apartment fire at 16300 E. 48th Terr.
