Longtime Kansas City newsman and current faith scribe Bill Tammeus is being subtle in his latest post and we appreciate his tact . . . Rather than jumping on the culture war bandwagon and fighting over CEO assassinations . . . He turns to nature and seems to imply the world's current economic model isn't working.
Don't give him too hard of a time regarding the sordid topic of economics . . . He's also in the same camp as so many tech crypto bros who gamble online all day without any of the fun of sports betting . . . However, his approach turns to nature for answers . . . Check the money line . . .
The question today for people of faith in the U.S. is whether our economic system -- which I would characterize as semi-regulated capitalism -- works well for everyone. The obvious answer is no. If it did, the poverty rate would be zero. Instead, it was 11.1 percent last year, the latest time for which U.S. Census Bureau figures are available. (That figure represented a very small decrease from the year before.)
So what can or should we do about that?
