A critical conversation happening right now amongst progressives in Kansas City considers the future of the Democratic Party.
The main question after a soul-crushing 2024 defeat . . .
HOW SHOULD KANSAS CITY DEMOCRATS REFORM THEIR PARTY?!? WILL PROGRESSIVES LISTEN TO MODERATES OR MOVE TOWARD MORE RADICAL IDEAS?!?
Fun fact . . . Universal Health Care isn't radical at all . . . Every other first world nation has it and Canada hasn't turned into Haiti because of it.
But I digress . . .
We think the conversation starts with local progressive activist for KC Tenants -- Hartzell Gray.
Criticize the guy all you want, and we have, there's no doubt he believes what he's saying given that he recently lost a cushy local sports job because of his activism and some of our more unhinged commenters are more likely to get a job in radio than Hartzell given the dude's statements about the war in Israel.
Nevertheless . . .
We can't deny that Mr. Gray is a local progressive leader in Kansas City and that's why we're starting with his thoughts on the future of the Dems and then sharing more info . . .
"This sure seems like a Democratic Party beyond (not worth?) saving. Supported by a media ecosystem-echo chamber that refuses to believe its entire corporatist worldview was resoundingly rejected by a majority of Americans.
"The plot is lost. Time for a new, Radical story."
And those prophetic words lead us to the larger conversation currently underway across the nation.
