"At the heart of Kansas City staff’s recommendation to the planning commission to deny annexation is the mining of limestone caves underneath the property. The commission will meet on Wednesday at 9 a.m. in City Hall.

"If they vote to advance the annexation the ordinance would go before the City Council, and if they vote to deny it – the petition will end there."
