Jason Kander Stands Up For VA Amid MAGA Private Healthcare Push

In this instance, there's no denying that Kansas City's favorite Democratic Party leader Jason Kander knows his stuff given his current position as leader for the Veterans Community Project.

Accordingly . . . Our social media friends might have already seen this one but we wanted to share this local perspective regarding incoming MAGA nominees hoping to shift care for Veterans from the VA to private insurance markets.

Here's what Jason Kander had to say about the move . . .

"It's extremely popular for politicians to basically crap on the VA all of the time . . . Don't get me wrong, the VA has its problems but they don't originate from the VA, they originate from Congress. So when Pete Hegseth talks about protecting a bureaucracy being the mission of the VA instead of serving veterans or Mr. Collins says 'Why aren't we doing everything possible to help the Veterans by letting them go to private healthcare providers?' One: There are instances already where you can go to private providers. But two: What that tells me is that those two gentleman almost certainly have never used the VA for their healthcare services because if they had they would know that the reason we have have an entire administration of healthcare just for Veterans is because when you go to the VA, as I do, you find that people who work with Veterans all the time, there's a specialty to that . . ."
