On Dec. 31, property taxes are due in Jackson County if you don’t want to pay a fine, penalty, or extra fee.

In Lee’s Summit on Friday, many made their way to City Hall to pay their tax bill, only to find out that is not possible.

In April, Jackson County faced a ransomware attack on its IT systems.

Since then, the City of Lee’s Summit said the city’s connection to the system Jackson County uses to collect tax payments has not been restored.
