Captive Kansas City Zoo Penguin Dies

To be fair . . . The old bird did put up an excellent fight and even garnered social media fame with custom fashions . . . Here's part of her story shared by BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC READERS:

"Due to age-related spinal issues, Bridget was unable to preen properly and needed extra help in waterproofing her feathers. To keep Bridget warm and cozy, senior animal care specialist Whitney crafted a penguin-sized protective wetsuit that allowed her to continue enjoying the water and snow. Bridget’s story was shared thousands of times on social media and connected with people around the world. Many guests came to visit Bridget at the Zoo, where she inspired visitors to learn about her species and the conservation efforts to protect her wild counterparts. She will be dearly missed by all."
