We're going to enjoy warmer weather in the days before Christmas and that evokes the big question:
WILL KANSAS CITY ACTIVISTS DELIVER ON THREATS OF CIVIL UNREST FOLLOWING A FORMER KCPD DETECTIVE'S RELEASE FROM LOCKUP?!?!
We certainly hope not . . . Also . . . It's hard to get people worked up around the holidays and over a guy who has been dead for five years.
However . . .
What we know for certain is that local leaders are busy assessing the damage and talking to those directly impacted . . . Check-it:
Senior Pastor at St. James Church KC Emanuel Cleaver III says the decision is a blow to the community.
"The sheer injustice of it all is what caused me to say something, speak out," he said.
Cleaver says the decision will "drive a larger gap between law enforcement and the Black community."
"I think it says that police can do whatever they want," he said.
President and CEO of AdHoc Group Against Crime, Damon Daniel and Cleaver say community organizations are working to move the community forward following the clemency . . .
