TKC Contemplates New Zealand Parliamentary Māori Haka Protest

This link burst through the morning compilation because it deserves consideration.

Our original TKC tag . . .

"New Zealand Parliamentary Māori Haka Dance Protest Exemplifies Well Deserved Decline Of Western Civilization"

But don't get it twisted . . .

READERS WHO DON'T THINK THIS NATIVE POLITICAL PROTEST IS AT LEAST KINDA COOL MIGHT BE MISSING THE POINT & FUN OF OUR TKC BLOG!!!

Right now we're posting this from a humble basement somewhat close to The Great Plains of the American Midwest; hundreds of years after settlers wiped out the buffalo and most the Native American people . . . And even the term "Native American" launches many reactionaries into hysterics that typically end up with indignant suburban keyboard warriors mistakenly taking credit for inventing the light bulb.

Nevertheless . . . Systematic genocide waged against Native Americans at the behest of the U.S. is historical fact which can be interpreted but not denied.

But let's not get down in the dumps dwelling over history.

This blog is ALWAYS about moving forward.

Sure, we've read the slightly racist "Ritual To Romance" and have considered that the story of human history might be nothing more or less than a journey from the tribal to the technological and then back again . . . OR MAYBE we're not so far removed from the wilderness as we'd like to imagine.

All of these thoughts race through our head whilst the rest of Kansas City sleeps and we consider this clip of native politics & broken treaties in a faraway land that we're sharing first with our most dedicated readers . . . Check the description . . .

"Parliament was briefly suspended on Thursday after Māori MPs performed a haka to disrupt a vote on a controversial bill that has ignited protests across New Zealand.

"The bill proposes to change the way in which the Treaty of Waitangi - a 184-year-old treaty between the British Crown and Māori people - is interpreted.

"Māori MP Hana-Rawhiti Maipi-Clarke ripped up a copy of the bill as she stood to lead the haka in parliament. Members from her party, Te Pāti Māori, other parties and some in the public gallery joined in."

And, of course, all of this is nothing more than a lead up to the moment of glory via www.TonysKansasCity.com embed . . .

Yeah, we love this clip and we've watched it at least ten times whilst trying to get this post finished.

Please decide for yourself . . . But we're only sharing this one in hopes of some thoughtful responses that almost NEVER emerge on our little corner of the Internet in this current configuration.

Developing . . .
