Here's the theory as far as we can tell . . . And neither Republicans nor Democratic Party voters should feel good about this precedent . . .
The recent abortion vote was close . . . However . . . Missouri also mainly elected Republican so those politicos are free to do whatever they want??? Is that the way the State Constitution works??? Not sure but also not interested in looking up the answer. Luckily, we expect so much GOP infighting in the upcoming session that it's safe to assume, as always, that nothing much gets accomplished in Jeff City.

Sen. Cindy O’Laughlin, R-Shelbina, argues against the notion that “the voters have spoken.”
“To say that the voters have spoken, yes, they have, and it was darn near at a 50-50-split,” she told Missourinet. “Our legislature is very pro-life, we, on the Republican side. You will see, I’m not sure of the timeline, but you will see efforts to protect unborn children.”
