Report: Woman & Baby Killed Amid Independence, MO Police Shooting

Tragedy erupts this week as investigators converge on the scene.

The property manager of Oval Spring Apartments, said the situation stemmed from a domestic violence incident.

She said a woman and a baby are dead after the shooting. 

Police say the incident happened in the area of M 291 Frontage Road and Larkspur Lane, near the Oval Springs Apartments.

Extent of injuries are unknown at this time.

The Jackson County, Missouri prosecutor's office, in a statement, says it has met with the independent investigation team overseeing the investigation.
