"When police identified themselves the man is said to have shot his gun, hitting a Ray County deputy. Officers returned fire.

"Multiple law enforcement agencies arrived on scene with reports gunfire had been heard from inside the home.

"Shortly after 9 p.m. the Clay County swat team entered where they found a man and child dead."
