Kansas City ThunderGong 2024 Redux: Generation X Relives Lost Youth

Even close followers of the Kansas City news scene probably haven't seen this post yet and that makes it worth sharing. 

Even better . . . This was one of those rare events wherein the over 40 crowd ruled the evening. 

Here's the aftermath that raised cash for a great cause and garnered the spotlight across the nation.

"The concert was rife with classic songs, funny skits and banter. Jason, Brendan and Will rotated through tunes all night, often in pairs and trios. Cristo sang a couple high-energy songs, passed out roses and kicked mini soccer balls far into the balcony. Weird Al entertained the crowd for two songs and then Will joined him for a cover of Chappell Roan’s “Hot to Go!” (which made national news). Flavor Flav rocketed onto the stage and hammered out two classic Public Enemy songs – ”911 is a Joke,” followed by “Bring the Noise,” with Jason filling in for Chuck D. He even got behind Billy’s drum kit and soloed. Everyone was having a blast. You could tell Flavor Flav wanted to keep going, and not just because he said so."

Thundergong! 2024 Recap: A Joyous Atmosphere

Jason Sudeikis and Billy Brimblecom, Jr. brought a very sold-out crowd to Uptown Theater for Thundergong! 2024, along with friends "Weird Al" Yankovic, Flavor Flav, Brendan Hunt, Will Forte and more.
