Kansas City Question: How Will Mayor Q Adapt To MAGA World?!?

The dust is starting to settle and we're getting a glimpse of how the new administration will operate as they start another term.

However . . . Here's what we don't know . . .

HOW WILL MAYOR Q ADAPT TO MAGA SWEEPING WHITE HOUSE, CONGRESS & SENATE?!?

We have a few things to consider in order to start the conversation . . .

- Mayor Q is no longer a rising star on the national political stage.

That might sound harsh but life has its ups & downs. Mayor Q moving past his upstart phase and on to a more long-term view of his career is probably beneficial for constituents and Mayor Q's future.

But make no mistake . . . The Dems are in disarray and joining their ranks would be a mistake. Meanwhile the Biden/Harris/Obama coalition has been rendered obsolete so there is no riding their coattails.

The Mayor will have to make his own path.

- Will Missouri GOP use Mayor Q as a punching bag???

There is a real danger that the city's top elected leader will fall into a trap that helps social media and far-left progressives but won't benefit KC or future prospects for Mayor Q.

Yes, there needs to be progressive mavericks in order to spar with Missouri GOP politicos and challenge the cause of vulnerable communities . . . But that "resistance" doesn't have to come from 12th & Oak.

Leading chants, protests & marches is better left to full-time activists than KC's top elected official tasked with representing both Republicans & Democratic Party voters.

It's hard to turn away from the spotlight but there's a chance to do much more important work in places that matter more than social media.

And that brings us to the upside . . .

- Leadership on stadiums offers opportunity for productive collab with Missouri Republicans?!?

Missouri isn't giving up on the Chiefs & Royals without a fight . . . Mayor Q seems to be already leading the way in this effort . . . Working ACROSS THE AISLE has the greatest potential to advance Kansas City, Missouri biz and local job creation . . . Yes, this is an optimistic take but the alternative is an endless cycle of partisan bickering that won't help KC or Mayor Q advance . . . And we're starting to notice that so much trash talk against KCMO is obviously coming from Johnson County interests hoping to steal the teams without offering anything but corn field pipe dreams and unlikely sketches hinged on taxpayer debt . . . Along with an unstable water supply

Of course these are just ideas for our www.TonysKansasCity.com community to consider . . .

You decide .  . .
