Kansas City Homicide Count Hits #130 After Man Shot Dead & Woman Injured

Homicide Truman and Ewing

This afternoon, just after 1 PM, officers were dispatched to the area of Truman and Ewing on a reported shooting. 

Upon arrival, they observed a vehicle which had two victims inside. Both victims had been shot. One victim, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

This is being investigated as a homicide and no one is in custody. Detectives are working to determine what led up to the shooting. Crime scene personnel and investigators will continue to canvass the area for physical evidence and potential witnesses.

We are committed to assisting victims of violent crimes through use of Missouri’s Protection Program for Victims/Witnesses of Violent Crime. Funding for temporary, or even permanent relocation, may be available but is subject to pre-approval by the State’s administering agency.

We are working with Partners for Peace in all our homicide investigations to monitor risks for retaliation and provide social services to affected residents.
