Kansas City Faith Blogger Earns Honorable Mention From The Pitch 'Best Of' Issue

Context . . .

12 years ago this kinda thing would've really hurt my feelings. 😭 sniffle . . .

However . . .

When this blog started out The Pitch was the trendiest place for Kansas City "journalists" to work and locals actually read their stories and took hints from the publication about where to hang out.

(Honest aside . . . We miss you "Night Ranger" Jen Chen!!!)

Anyhoo . . .

The mag has now changed hands twice and in its current configuration it's the day job of a 30-something trust fund kid from outta town who mainly just writes for his hipster friends. About a fifth of the content is dedicated to how tall the guy is . . . And the rest of it is syndicated from the local news cartel. Nobody but TKC and couple of other people notice.

Accordingly . . .

This year's "best of" issue didn't make much of a splash . . . But one of the rascals who reads this blog sent it our way with a very nice note:

"Just thought you would be interested . . . I never would have seen the guy's blog if it wasn't for you linking him . . . You might want to ask for a piece of the prize money!!!"

Funny . . .

Long, long ago we actually won this prize four or five times in a row.  And each time we were disappointed to learn there wasn't any cash award. Again . . . 😭 Sniffle.

And so, instead of being a hater, we'll congratulate former newsman turned blogger Bill Tammeus for his mention in the best blog/substack category and move along on our digital journey quickly . . . Humbly.
